Mitosis Model
Mitosis: a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus.
Stages:
Interphase: The cell is involved in metabolic activity and preforms it's duty as part of a tissue.
Prophase: Chromatin in the nucleus begin to condense and become visible as chromosomes. The nuclear membrane dissolves marking the beginning of prometaphase.
Metaphase: Spindle fibers aline the chromosomes along the middle of the cells nucleus.
Anaphase: The paired chromosomes separate at kinetochores and move to opposite sides of the cell.
Telophase: New membranes from around the daughter nuclei while the chromosomes disperse and are no longer visible.
Interphase is the longest stage because the cell spends most of its life in interphase and does most of its tasks in interphase.
Planarians use mitosis to regenerate their cells or full bodies.
Planarians use mitosis to regenerate so we could possibly figure out a way to use it one our selfs.

Plant Mania
Project Overview: Our project is seeing if a mint plant will grow faster with red light or regular light. We are going to have it in a cabinet on the wall with no light except the lights we put in their. We are going to have two plants growing at the same time to see if one will grow faster with different light. We will be using red led light and a white led light. We are growing the mint plant indoors but sunlight is used to grow plants but we are seeing if we can grow it indoors and with different light.9 Plants use photosynthesis to get their nutrition and strength.1 We need to know what different types of light plants can grow with so when we maybe go to other planets we know what light plants can grow with.
Growing plants indoors could be better because there are no seasons to kill the plant. The plant will have an individual pot so it can't be invasive to other species and the plant hopefully will thrive. This will help with figuring out what light plants can grow with so we can eventually grow plants on another planet using the right materials. We will grow mint indoors because if we can grow one edible plant indoors we should be able to grow others indoors.
I would just research more on peas because we planted peas after break and the mint didn't sprout but we did all our research on mint.
Photosynthesis Lab
We did this lab to see if the leafs would stop floating after a while of being in sodium bicarbonate with a drop of soap. I learned what photosynthesis really is. Photosynthesis is the process where green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water.
My leaf segments sunk after 1 minute of shaking it in a circle. My leaf was an aspen leaf my light I used was just a regular light bulb and it was directly on the cup with the leafs in it. My light was about an inch from the cup with the leaf bits.
Monocot Dicot Project
We did this experiment to find out wether these seeds were monocots or dicots. My seeds didn't live long enough to sprout the leafs so I couldn't tell what my seeds were. I predicted that they would grow and sprout but I didn't give them enough water. I observed my plants didn't even sprout. My seeds didn't grow enough for me to tell if they were monocots or dicots. My plants didn't have enough water to stay alive so they died.
